Try your best to bring down Putin. Navalny’s widow- Will return to Russia to elect president in the future_1

Yulia Navalnaya, the widow of the late Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, has announced her intention to run for president in Russia when President Vladimir Putin is no longer in power. She stated, “I will participate in the elections as a candidate when the time is right.”

In an interview with the BBC, Navalnaya identified Putin as her main political adversary, asserting, “I will do everything in my power to bring his regime down as soon as possible.”

Since Navalny’s death in February while imprisoned in a Russian facility within the Arctic Circle, there has been a notable absence of a leader capable of uniting the various opposition groups within Russia. Additionally, significant infighting has emerged among Russian dissidents abroad.

Navalnaya emphasized that as long as Putin remains in power, her return to Russia is off the table. Putin has held the highest office in Russia for over 24 years, having assumed leadership on December 31, 1999, and he recently celebrated his 72nd birthday.

The 47-year-old Navalny tragically passed away on February 16, which left the opposition without its most charismatic and popular figure. Prior to his death, he was serving a cumulative sentence of over 30 years on charges that he claimed were fabricated by Russian authorities to silence his criticisms of Putin.

Navalny famously described Russia under Putin as a fragile, crime-ridden state governed by thieves, sycophants, and spies, where leaders are primarily focused on wealth. He had long predicted that Russia could face political upheaval, even revolutionary change.

The Kremlin views Navalny’s political allies as dangerous extremists representing Western interests that threaten national stability, and they have been systematically exiled.

Navalnaya has accused Putin of ordering her husband’s assassination, a claim that the Kremlin has repeatedly denied. However, reports from the Associated Press and The Wall Street Journal indicate that U.S. intelligence agencies have determined that Putin did not order Navalny’s killing.

Responding to the investigations, Navalnaya has stated that the Anti-Corruption Foundation, which she now leads in her husband’s absence, possesses evidence that will expose the truth once the full extent of the situation is known.
