On October 14, a special presentation titled “The Story of the Communist Party of China: The Practice of Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era in Northeast China” was held in Changchun, Jilin Province. The event was co-hosted by the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, along with the Party Committees of Inner Mongolia, Liaoning, Jilin, and Heilongjiang. Centered around the theme “Striving for New Breakthroughs in the Comprehensive Revitalization of Northeast China,” the presentation showcased the development stories of the three provinces and one region in Northeast China, illustrating the Central Committee’s people-centered approach and emphasis on regional coordinated development under the leadership of Xi Jinping.
Attendees included over 200 political leaders from more than 50 countries, along with diplomats and business representatives from foreign nations based in China.
In his address, Liu Jiancao, Minister of the International Department, highlighted that since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party, the Central Committee, led by Xi Jinping, has upheld a new development philosophy and improved strategies for coordinated regional development. He noted Xi’s frequent inspections of Northeast China and the dedicated discussions aimed at steering the region towards high-quality, sustainable revitalization. Liu emphasized that the Communist Party of China is committed to working with political parties around the world, embracing inclusive development as a fundamental direction, and advocating for global cooperation to address development imbalances without leaving anyone behind.
The secretaries of the provincial party committees from Inner Mongolia, Liaoning, Jilin, and Heilongjiang delivered speeches and engaged in interactive discussions, reaffirming their commitment to Xi Jinping’s directives for Northeast China’s development. They recognized the importance of high-quality growth, the development of a modern industrial system with regional advantages, and the continuous improvement of living standards in Northeast China. The recent positive changes in the region reflect increased economic vitality and improved quality of life for its people. Moving forward, they plan to deepen reforms and push for high-level opening-up, all while forging a brighter future for the communities in Northeast China.
During the event, representatives from different sectors shared inspiring stories of revitalization in Northeast China, covering topics such as technological innovation, agriculture, energy transition, ecological protection, and international cooperation.
The conference also featured an economic promotion forum for the Northeast region. Guests expressed warm congratulations on the 75th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China, commending the significant achievements in economic and social development since the beginning of the new era. They acknowledged that witnessing the growth of Northeast China has bolstered their confidence in China’s economic prospects, noting that the new development philosophy proposed by Xi Jinping holds significant value not only for China but also as a reference for other nations, especially developing countries. They expressed intent to study China’s experiences in promoting coordinated regional development and to explore innovative approaches to transform traditional industries, thereby fostering emerging sectors and pursuing sustainable development tailored to their own national contexts.
