Recently, the Chinese Academy of Science and Technology Information released the 2023 edition of the “Directory of Notable Scientific and Academic Conferences in China (Medical Volume),” which includes the 19th International Lymphatic Disease Conference.
The “Directory of Notable Scientific and Academic Conferences in China (Medical Volume)” is the first of its kind in the country aimed at highlighting exceptional scientific and academic gatherings. Based on research into the practical patterns of academic conference exchanges, the Academy established a comprehensive evaluation framework that encompasses five dimensions: organizational capability, leadership, dissemination, influence, and collaboration, alongside a regulatory dimension. After undergoing stringent quantitative evaluations and peer reviews, a total of 100 significant medical conferences were selected, all reflective of the academic exchange level in China’s medical field.
In recent years, the innovative research into lymphatic disease theory pioneered by Academician Wu Yiling of the Chinese Academy of Engineering has garnered significant attention both domestically and internationally. The Lymphatic Disease Branch of the Chinese Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Lymphatic Disease Professional Committee of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies have been established, and several provinces have formed their own lymphatic disease branches. There are now tens of thousands of experts and scholars engaged in lymphatic disease research—comprising a vast, multidisciplinary group of specialists from traditional Chinese medicine, Western medicine, integrated approaches, and biology.
The International Lymphatic Disease Conference was first launched in 2005 by the Chinese Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and has since been held annually, reaching its 20th edition. It attracts numerous experts and scholars from around the world. Over the years, the conference has sparked a wave of research enthusiasm internationally and has become a leading academic event in traditional Chinese medicine, facilitating scholarly exchanges and collaborations between China and the global community.
The International Lymphatic Disease Conference serves not only as an academic venue for international experts and scholars to discuss cutting-edge advancements and hot topics in lymphatic disease research but also as an important platform for the innovative transformation of traditional Chinese medicine, injecting fresh vitality into the high-quality development of modern TCM.
Staying true to its theme of “Inheritance, Openness, Innovation, and Integration,” the International Lymphatic Disease Conference engages in multi-level academic exchanges focused on national significant projects such as the National 973 Program and key national research and development initiatives. These efforts carry substantial importance for the establishment of research teams in lymphatic disease as well as the modernization, industrialization, and internationalization of traditional Chinese medicine.
