Liam Payne, a former member of the iconic British boy band One Direction, tragically fell to his death from a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on October 16, at the age of 31. This shocking news has reverberated across the music industry and among fans worldwide. It is reported that Liam was on vacation with his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, at the time of the incident before he suddenly fell from the hotel, sustaining severe injuries that ultimately proved fatal. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
According to a report from Reuters, local media outlet La Nacion stated that Liam fell from the third floor of the hotel and was discovered deceased upon arrival.
ABC News cited Alberto Crescenti, the director of Buenos Aires’ emergency medical services (SAME), who confirmed that they received a call reporting an unusually behaving man, suspected to be under the influence. It was estimated that Liam fell from a height of approximately 13 to 14 meters, with injuries deemed “extremely serious” and unsurvivable.
TMZ reported that eyewitnesses described Liam’s strange behavior the day of the incident, noting that he had damaged his laptop and needed assistance back to his room.
The Argentine police issued a statement confirming that “songwriter and guitarist, former One Direction member Liam Payne passed away on October 16 after falling from a hotel in Palermo.”
