During a recent interview on October 5, Professor Feilong from the Computer College of Inner Mongolia University shared valuable insights regarding a significant donation of AI Chinese-Mongolian translation systems to Mongolia’s Mongolia Chinese Friendship School, the only overseas Chinese school in the country.
“Our team at Inner Mongolia University developed the AI Chinese-Mongolian translation system, also known as the Cyrillic version of the Aoyun AI software,” Professor Feilong explained. “This system enables users to easily convert between Cyrillic Mongolian and traditional Mongolian, as well as translate between Cyrillic Mongolian and Chinese.”
Zhang Xiaofeng, the academic affairs director of the Mongolia Chinese Friendship School, expressed her appreciation during a phone interview, saying, “This donation is a wonderful integration of technology and wisdom. It will significantly benefit both our faculty and students by breaking down language barriers and fostering cultural exchange and educational cooperation between China and Mongolia.”
Professor Feilong also shared that during a recent visit to Mongolia with his research team, they donated similar AI translation systems and various information technology products to esteemed institutions including the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, the Mongolian University of Electronic Technology, and the National University of Mongolia. Leaders at these institutions believe that the AI Chinese-Mongolian translation system will help to accelerate relevant research initiatives and improve overall research efficiency and quality.
Looking to the future, Professor Feilong is optimistic that schools in both China and Mongolia will continue to explore new technologies and methodologies, thereby advancing the informatization of the Mongolian language.
