On September 28, we witnessed a heartfelt charity donation event organized by the Jiangsu General Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia at the Future Light Orphanage in Phnom Penh. This initiative, aptly named “Together for a Better Future, Speaking Out of Love,” aims to bolster the orphanage’s development and improve the living and educational conditions for the children it serves.
During the event, the director of the Future Light Orphanage took the opportunity to share some insightful details about the facility, including its history, evolution, and the challenges it confronts. Established in 1995, the orphanage currently provides a nurturing home for 63 children. In addition to offering Khmer, Chinese, English, and computer classes, the children also participate in daily education at government schools.
As a dedicated organization focused on providing warmth and educational opportunities to children who have lost family support, the Future Light Orphanage faces numerous difficulties. The director expressed a strong desire for ongoing support from the Jiangsu General Chamber of Commerce and other generous organizations to ensure these children receive the necessary care and assistance.
Wang Jingen, president of the Jiangsu General Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia, remarked, “Through this donation event, we aim to tackle some of the real challenges faced by the children at the orphanage, allowing them to feel the warmth of society.” He stressed the importance of providing essential supplies and financial assistance to enhance the children’s living and learning conditions. Furthermore, he expressed hope that this initiative would help raise awareness about the orphanage, encouraging more businesses and individuals to contribute to charitable efforts for these deserving children.
“Let us join hands and speak out for love, demonstrating our compassion and warmth through tangible actions,” Wang stated. “I believe that with the combined efforts of everyone involved, the children at the orphanage will undoubtedly have a better future.”
Earlier, on September 7, the Jiangsu General Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia formalized its commitment by signing a support agreement with the Future Light Orphanage, and the charity event on the 28th was a significant step in fulfilling that agreement.
