On October 22, a situation report was released by the Anshun City Transportation Bureau in Guizhou Province, addressing social media claims about a girl who was reportedly denied a ride on a public bus due to a fare increase after school. The bureau stated that the information circulating online does not align with the facts, and they have communicated with the girl’s parents who have acknowledged this clarification.
According to the report, on October 12, 2024, the girl left school at 5:09 PM and took a ride-hailing service arranged by her parents at 5:20 PM, arriving home by 5:40 PM. During the time between 5:09 PM and 5:20 PM, a Route 22 bus did pass by and stop at a nearby station, but the girl did not board it.
The bureau emphasized that since the individuals involved include minors, they encourage media and social media users to refrain from spreading misinformation, helping to foster a healthy environment for the growth of young people.
