On October 18th, the National Standards Promotion Conference took place in Guangzhou under the theme, “Standardizing the Canton Fair to Cultivate New Growth Momentum in the Exhibition Industry.” During the event, Shu Shijia, Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the Canton Fair and Director of the China Foreign Trade Center, announced that three new national standards are currently in development. He also highlighted the center’s active efforts in various forms of standard promotion.
Shu stated, “As a leading enterprise in China’s exhibition industry, the Foreign Trade Center, under the guidance of the Exhibition Standards Committee, has taken the lead in drafting three national standards, effectively filling the gaps in the areas of green and safety standards for exhibitions.” He emphasized the importance of ongoing work on these new standards and urged industry peers to engage in practical application and widespread implementation to cultivate new momentum for the exhibition sector and advance the standardization process.
Chen Feng, Secretary-General of the National Exhibition Industry Standardization Technical Committee, shared insights about the committee’s responsibilities and commended the Foreign Trade Center for its achievements in developing national standards. He expressed hope that more exhibition organizations would follow the center’s lead in actively participating in the drafting and promotion of national exhibition standards, enhancing collaboration to jointly advance standardization initiatives and sustainable growth.
During the conference, representatives from various sectors, including trade delegations, business associations, exhibiting companies, and local standard management authorities from Guangdong Province and Guangzhou, shared their experiences and insights into the development, application, and promotion of these standards.
