In a bizarre theft incident in Cincinnati, Ohio, a local shoe store, Sole Bros, suffered a shocking loss when three intoxicated thieves made off with over 100 right-foot shoes. The store owner, Amy, found herself in a state of disbelief and even contemplated shutting down her business for good.
According to the New York Post, the incident took place around 2 AM on October 8. Amy received an alert from her surveillance system, which showed the three suspects brazenly entering her store and stealing items without a care.
Amy revealed that the thieves not only grabbed more than 100 right-foot shoes but also several complete pairs, along with a significant amount of clothing and personal items. She shared surveillance footage on social media, where one thief in a red tracksuit could be seen taking a swig from what appeared to be an alcoholic beverage before entering the store. He casually strolled around, as if he were at home, while clutching several pairs of shoes. Another suspect, dressed in a black hoodie and mask, limped into the store, and a third suspect, a woman, stood at the entrance apparently keeping watch.
After the theft, the store was left in disarray, with shoe boxes scattered everywhere and the stock room nearly emptied. Amy told local media that despite her swift arrival on the scene, the thieves had escaped nearly 20 minutes prior.
She estimates the total loss, including damages, could reach as high as $45,000. The Cincinnati police have since shared the footage on X (formerly known as Twitter) in hopes of identifying and apprehending the suspects.
This incident comes just a year and a half after Amy had to deal with another financial blow when a vehicle crashed into her store, forcing her to find a new location. The recent theft has hit her hard, leading her to seriously consider closing shop. However, the support from the local community encouraged her to continue, and she later posted an update stating that Sole Bros will keep its doors open to provide the best service to the city.
